What the inspector wrote

On June 12, 2025 at 2:00pm, Licensing Program Manager (LPM), Daniel Oquendo, and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Nathan Garcia, met with Licensee, Vera Teixeira and Co-Licensee, Luiz Guilherme Soares for an office meeting. The purpose of the office meeting was to discuss the citations issued to the Family Child Care Home. Citations discussed during this meeting included: \302\267 Staffing Ratio and Capacity: -Facility was cited on May 6, 2025, for only having one provider with 8 children present in the home upon arrival. \302\267 Inspection Authority: -The facility was unable to provide children\342\200\231s records during the inspection. \302\267 Personnel Records: -The facility was unable to provide personnel records. \302\267 Operation of a Family Child Care Home: - The facility was observed to not have handlebar covers on the tricycles. - The facility was unable to document an emergency drill. - The licensee must be present in the home for at least 80% of the daily operation hours. Temporary absences shall not exceed 20 percent of the hours that the facility is providing care per day. ***continue to page 2*** ***Page 2 continured*** \302\267Infant Safe Sleep: -An infant was observed with a bib present in the crib while the infant was napping. -The facility was unable to provide 15-minute sleep logs for the infants. -An infant was observed napping in a room with the doors closed. Licensee was reminded: \302\267 The staff and ratio capacity for a Large Family Child Care Home. \302\267 The department has inspection authority to inspect the records for staff/children and rooms in the facility. \302\267 Record keeping of children and staff files and to train the staff where to locate the files in an event the licensee is absent. \302\267 Regulations regarding implementing fire drills at least 2 times a year. \302\267 Checking the facility for health and safety hazards for children in care. Such as toys or other equipment used by the children. \302\267 The percentage of hours that a licensee needs to be present in the facility. \302\267 Infant Safe Sleep Regulations. During the meeting, LPM provided licensee with: \302\267 Licensee and co-licensee regulations. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee, Vera Teixeira and Co-Licensee, Luiz Guilherme Soares.
