What the inspector wrote

Staff interviewed (S1-S3) all stated that they have never heard a staff speak to children in an inappropriate manner. Staff stated that they hear phrases such as \342\200\234Please make good choices\342\200\235, \342\200\234Let\342\200\231s be safe\342\200\235, \342\200\234Please sit down\342\200\235, \342\200\234Feet on the ground\342\200\235 or \342\200\234Walking feet\342\200\235 to children when wanting to redirect behavior. All children interviewed (C1-C5), stated that they like their teachers and spoke about their teachers telling them that they need to make good choices. C2 stated that when they make a bad choice they are told to sit on the bench or chair or go to the office with Saprina. C3 stated that sometimes teachers say, \342\200\234Go on time out.\342\200\235 C4 stated that when a teacher gets an angry face they say, \342\200\234(Child\342\200\231s name) try and do better.\342\200\235, but sometimes a teacher will say \342\200\234Can you please go pick up the toys\342\200\235, and I do. During the tour of the facility LPA heard staff use phrases such as \342\200\234Please keep your hands on your own lunch.\342\200\235, \342\200\234You need to do better, that\342\200\231s why you\342\200\231re in the chair.\342\200\235, and \342\200\234You are making good choices today, thank you.\342\200\235 Interviews conducted and observations made, corroborate that staff are consistent in the language used when speaking to children. Based on LPA observations, staff interviews, although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that an alleged violation occurred, therefore the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED. There were no Title 22 deficiencies cited during today's inspection. This report was reviewed and discussed with the Licensee. Appeal Rights were provided. This report was reviewed and discussed with Licensee/Center Director, Saprina Rodriguez. Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's visit. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
