What the inspector wrote

On 05/07/2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) David Rocha and Stephanie Vega-Gonzalez met with Director Maricarmen Garcia and Assistant Director/Lead Teacher (AD) for an unannounced case management incident inspection. LPAs explained the purpose of the inspection. LPAs toured the facility and a census was taken. The purpose of today's inspection was to address an unusual incident that was reported to the Department on 04/11/2025. This incident occurred at the facility on 04/10/2025 where child #1 (C1) was left in a classroom unsupervised, sleeping, while the rest of the children and two teachers went to the outdoor playground. C1 was noticed missing and was left in the classroom unsupervised. LPAs interviewed Day Care Director, Assistant Director/ Lead Teacher, and day care staff . As per Title 22, 101229 Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision (a) The licensee shall provide care and supervision as necessary to meet the children's needs. (1) No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time, except as specified in Sections 101216.2(e)(1) and 101230(c)(1). A Type A was cited on today’s inspection. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, the following deficiencies are being cited: (see next page). Upon receipt of a Type A violation, licensee shall post and provide copies of this licensing report to parents/guardians of children in care at the facility and to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months. A copy of the Fact Sheet - Child Care Parent Notification Requirements and a copy of LIC 9224 Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports was given to Director Maricarmen Garcia. This report shall be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit is provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
