What the inspector wrote

On 12/08/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ka Vang conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Site Supervisor Andrea Ceja Martinez. Licensee Juan Gama also present during today\342\200\231s case management inspection. LPA toured the facility inside and outside, and a census was taken. The purpose today's inspection was to follow-up with the information received at the Fresno Community Care Licensing Office on 12/05/2022 regarding facility staff threw water at a day care child\342\200\231s face. During the inspection toured of the facility\342\200\231s outdoor, LPA observed the sand area in the corner of the playground did not have enough adequate sand to provide cushioning underneath. A technical assistance violation was issued advising Site Supervisor to monitor the playground to ensure that there is adequate sand to provide cushioning in the corner of the playground. LPA also observed a sand \342\200\234Sensory Table\342\200\235 on the playground area. The sand sensory table has three tiers and each tier have different shape and spaces that have wet sand, dried leaves, and water in the shade of the table. Per Site Supervisor, the sensory table have sands in it, but during the past few days, it was raining so the table collected rain and the dried falling leaves. Per LPA observation, some of the sections of the table have wet sand and dried leaves. The other section of the sensory table has sand, water, and dried leave on it. LPA advised Site Supervisor that the surface of the outdoor activity space and play structure shall be maintained in a safe condition for the activities planned for children in care. A deficiency of Type B had been issued. Per the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, a deficiency of Type B had been cited during today's inspection. (see next page, 809 D). Licensee was provided a copy of appeal rights. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted with the Sit Supervisor Andrea Ceja Martinez.
