What the inspector wrote

A second announced pre-licensing/change of location inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Norma Lomeli. Met with Applicant, Erika Estrada. Applicant and her minor child will reside in the home. Background clearances are discussed and LIS 531 is signed indicating that the adults currently living in the home and/or providing care and supervision to children have a criminal record clearance. The purpose of today's inspection is to verify that the following correction requested was made. LPA observed the following corrections today: Applicant made the in-ground pool inaccessible to the day care children by installing a pool cover net squared openings measure: 3.5 inches (Length) and 3.5 inches (Width) that was installed by MC 2 Swimming Pool Supplies. Pool Cover meets the requirements of ASTM-F1346-91 and Title 22 Regulations: Section 102417(g)(5)- Operation of a Family Child Care Home. All licensees shall ensure the inaccessibility of pools (in-ground and above-ground), fixed-in-place wading pools, hot tubs, spas, fish ponds and similar bodies of water through a pool cover or by surrounding the pool with a fence. Applicant agrees to supervise children at all times when playing outdoors. Applicant states that children will not be allowed on the pool net cover or inside the pool. Applicant's Assistant completed the Mandated Training Certification on March 21, 2021. (Continued on LIC809-C): This home meets the description of a safe and healthy environment for children as described in Chapter 3, Division 12, Title 22 of California Code of Regulations and licensure for a as a Large Family Day Care Home capacity of 14 children ages under 18 years will be recommended effective August 25, 2021. *Planned hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 06:00 PM.
