What the inspector wrote

On February 25, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst Miguel Herrera conducted an unannounced Case Management Inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Sandy Aguiar. LPA toured the facility, and a census was taken. Licensee's assistant was present during the inspection. The purpose of today's inspection was regarding an Unusual Incident that was self reported to the Fresno Childcare Regional Office, the incident occurred on 2/11/2025. The incident involved a child sustaining an injury while running to get a ball and accidentally bumping his head against the patio's post. During today\342\200\231s visit LPA Herrera conducted facility observations, and interviewed Licensee and their assistant. During the facility tour LPA Herrera conducted observations in the home's backyard where the incident occurred. The surface of the outdoor grass and patio area were maintained in a safe condition and were free from tripping hazards. Based on interviews, the incident occurred under the patio area where the child was running to retrieve a ball that was near the patio's wooden post. As the child attempted to bend down and grab the ball, he accidentally ran into the post and sustained an injury to his forehead that required medical attention. During today\342\200\231s inspection LPA Herrera observed the facility practiced proper supervision while playing in the backyard. Furthermore, it was an isolated incident and Licensee Aguiar took appropriate measures to address the incident, following appropriate reporting requirements. Furthermore, based on interviews LPA Herrera determined that the facility was within ratio/capacity and was practicing proper supervision during the time of the incident. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Sandy Aguiar. Appeal rights were provided. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, there are no deficiencies cited during today\342\200\231s inspection. This report shall be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit is provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
