What the inspector wrote

On 02/09/2023 at 01:25 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susy Cervantes, met with Amalia Rodriguez, ECE advocate for preschool for a case management visit in regards to the newly constructed play structure for the children. Present were 16 children with two teachers. LPA inspected and took pictures of the play structure and sand area. LPA observed that the play structure is appropriate for the age range of the children in care. There is pour and play as resilient material. Shade is provided by a canopy at the existing play structure. LPA was informed that a permanent canopy will be installed at a later time at the new play structure, construction time has not been determined. LPA informed Advocate that a temporary canopy or overhang needs to be installed for the time being. Measurements taken on 08/09/2022 of the outdoor play area with existing play structure: (123 x 24.10) + (64.9 x 20) = 4262.3 sq. ft Measurements taken today of new play structure and sand area: (51 x 46) + (28.583 x 31) = 3232.073 sq ft (49.833 x 27) = 1345.491 sq ft OUTDOOR PLAY AREA TOTAL: 4262.3 + 3232.073 + 1345.491 = 8839.864 sq. ft. divided by 75 = 117 children Outdoor play area has enough space for 117 children , facility is licensed for 45 children. The outdoor area has appropriate fencing and a shed that is used for storage of the play equipment. LPA reminded advocate that children must be supervised at all times. Labeled water bottles will be used and taken outside each time the children are in the outdoor play area. No deficiencies were cited during today's visit. An exit interview was conducted with advocate, Amalia Rodriguez. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
