What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Andrea Cortez and Cortney Nelson, met with Coordinator of Early Learning , Kristina Torres, to conduct inspection of classrooms 23, 24, and 25 for the preschool program. LPAs were escorted through school grounds by Kristina to the classrooms and outdoor playground. Classroom 23 was originally a portable. Portable was removed and replaced with permanent constructed building. Classroom 24 is currently under renovation with new paint, flooring, and wall baseboards. Portable 25 reminds unchanged. Classroom 23 and 25 were observed to be currently used as storage space with preschool toys and equipment. Additional equipment are located at the family resources center . Classroom 24 was observed to be empty due to on-going renovation. Classrooms are equipped with build in fire systems, classrooms 24 and 25 have functioning carbon monoxide detectors and fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers were observed in all classrooms. LPAs toured the outside area that has been completely renovated There is one playground structure with rubber padding, grass turf, and cemented area. LPAs advised shade is required for outdoor space Kristina states that shade stature will be added. LPAs advised outdoor side yard shall require visual supervision when children are present in that area. Outdoor play area is fenced in with a fence that is at least 4ft tall. A fire clearance was approved for classrooms 23 and 24 by North County Fire Protection District of Monterey County on 4-2-2024 for a capacity of 65 children, all ambulatory. LPAs advised a revised fire clearance will be required to add classroom 25 and update facility capacity. Due to no children being present at the facility, LPAs advised inactive status. Additionally, due to current condition of on-going renovations and equipment not set up, LPAs advised a follow-up visit will be conducted to measure for indoor and outdoor capacity. Corrections to be submitted prior to next visit. As a result of todays inspection, no deficiencies were cited. Exit interview conducted and the report was reviewed with Coordinator of Early Learning, Kristina Torres. A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS GIVEN AND MUST BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. LPAs advised submissions of the following corrections: -Classroom 23 submit updated water lead testing, exemption for newly constructed building, and resubmit original water lead testing for the facility conducted on 4/15/2023, including LIC9275, LIC9276, LIC999 indicating all faucets and those that are used for drinking water and food preparation. -Classroom 23 bathroom door removed or half doors installed -Classroom 26 require mat or cot for sick child isolation -shade structure to be installed outside -proof of finalized permit for classroom 23 electrical, plumbing , and mechanical compliance -submit directors\342\200\231 packet for Kristina -(optional) carbon monoxide detector for Classroom 23
