What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anna Morales conducted an ANNUAL RANDOM visit and was met with Licensee and her husband(staff). Licensee and her husband are the only adults that reside at the facility. LPA observed three preschool aged children. Licensee was operating within her capacity and ratio requirements. LPA observed the required postings, including the facility license. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 6am-6pm. LPA observed a current roster. Last disaster drill was conducted on 11/24. Licensee does not provide transportation to the children at this time. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. L PA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's visit. The Licensee has a working telephone in the home. LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the children in care. The home is orderly, and safe for the day care children. The LPA did not observe a wall heater as the home has central heat. Off limit areas of the home: all bedrooms, two family bathrooms, living room, and attached garage. L PA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher. Licensee is in the process of replacing their Newly smoke detector. LPA observed a carbon monoxide detector. No bodies of water observed. The Licensee states that she does not have weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, poisons, medications, and other similar items are out of reach and inaccessible to children. Licensee states that she does not administer medications at this time. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA reviewed a random selection of children's file and observed that parent's rights forms, immunization records forms, consents for emergency medical treatment forms, and Identification forms are in each file. C2 immunization records was missing from file. Licensee and Staff's file was reviewed for the following records: Employee Rights (LIC9052), Statement Acknowledging Requirement to report Child Abuse (LIC9108), and Immunization Record showing immunity to measles (MMR), pertussis (Tdap), and influenza (or statement declining influenza). Licensee's Pediatric First Aid/CPR expires on 2/7/27. LPA was unable to observe copy of current Mandated Reporter Training. LPA encouraged the Licensee to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and new updates. The Licensee can also email at childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov and ask to be added to the email list for the updates. LPA discussed the requirements of AB 633 with the Licensee and understands the AB 633 fact sheet/copy of Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports (LIC 9224). LPA discussed "zero tolerance" related regulations and advised that the assessment of an immediate $500 per day civil penalty for any violation of a "zero tolerance" related regulation. An ongoing civil penalty of $100 per day continues until the violation(s) is corrected. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Janet De Sales confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. One Technical Violation was issued during today's visit. Licensee stated she will submit a copy of their mandated reporter training, and a photo of the newly installed Smoke detector. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee representative,
