Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marilou Monico conducted a Case Management Inspection in response to licensee's request to change the capacity from 36 to 30 children and removing a classroom on the license. LPA met with Center Director, Jennifer Sebolino, and the purpose of the inspection was explained. The preschool program operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. LPA toured the facility both inside and out, as well as measured the space available for the children during today's visit. INDOOR MEASUREMENTS: PRESCHOOL ROOM: 38.833 x 30.250 = 1,174.698 minus 90.336 (encumbered space) = 1,084.362 TOTAL PRESCHOOL INDOOR SPACE = 1,084.362 sq. ft. divided by 35 = 30 children The preschool program has 6 sinks (90) and 2 toilets (30) available for the children. The sinks used by children only have cold running water. There is a staff bathroom adjacent to the kitchen. The isolation of sick children will be in the Office and isolation equipment will be provided. Sick children will use the staff bathroom if needed and will be accompanied by a staff member. There are 36 chairs, 6 tables, 32 cots, and 36 cubbies for the children. OUTDOOR MEASUREMENTS: PRESCHOOL PLAYGROUND: 106.000 x 72.750 = 7,711.500 minus 204.427 (encumbered space) = 7,507.073 TOTAL OUTDOOR SPACE = 7,507.073 sq. ft. divided by 75 = 100 children The preschool playground is surrounded by appropriate fencing and the outdoor surfaces are safe. Shade is provided by trees, umbrellas, and gazebo. The areas under and around the climbing structures are cushioned with resilient material (rubber foam) that will absorb a fall. Drinking water is provided via pitcher and disposable cups. There were no bodies of water observed. Continuation on next page: Center Director, Jennifer Sebolino, was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. An updated facility sketch was received during the inspection. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Center Director, Jennifer Sebolino, and advised her that a license for 30 children will be granted upon receipt of an approved fire clearance. There were no deficiencies cited. A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS GIVEN AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.
