Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Elizabeth Larios, met with Lead Teacher Maria Palacios, for an unannounced Required - 1 Year inspection. Note: Facility is located in Central Bay High School campus in portable 10. LPA toured the facility both indoor and outdoor areas during today's inspection. LPA observed the required posted materials, including the Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148), Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Child Car Seat Law (PUB 269), menus, and Activity Schedule. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The facility is licensed to serve a maximum of twelve (12) children ages birth to two (2) years old. LPA observed that the facility is clean, safe, and sanitary for children, staff, and visitors. The facility has adequate ventilation, including central air conditioning/heating. Lead Teacher states that the facility has a custodian that cleans the facility Monday through Friday. Lead Teacher understands that the facility must be kept free of flies and other insects & rodents. LPA observed that all furniture and equipment is in good condition and safe for the children. The infant changing table has raised sides that are at least 3 inches in height. The infant changing table has a vinyl changing pad that is at least 1 inch think and in good condition. Napping equipment is appropriate. Drinking water is readily available for the children indoor & outdoor playground via water dispenser and cups. Staff and children's bathrooms are clean, sanitary, and operable. There is a separate staff bathroom not utilized by the children which an isolated child can use if needed. Director states that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. The facility has functioning carbon monoxide detector in the facility. LPA did not observe a smoke detector. The food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter & rubbish, and free of rodents and other vermin. All food and beverages that require refrigeration are stored in covered containers at 45 degrees F or less. The facility provides breakfast, lunch and snacks. The facility has trash cans with tight fitting lids for solid waste. Cleaning supplies are inaccessible to the children. There are no poisons at the facility. LPA observed a incomplete First Aid kit in the facility. Lead Teacher states that the facility does not administer any medications at this time. Lead Teacher understands that smoking is not allowed on the facility premises. The playground area utilized by children are surrounded by appropriate fencing and the outdoor surfaces are safe for the children. LPA observed a unlock gate that leads to the Central Bay High School field. LPA observed a rusty ramp that leads to the playground. LPA observed that the outdoor equipment is age appropriate. Shade is provided in playground area by a built in umbrella. LPA did not observe any bodies of water. Lead Teacher Maria states that the facility does not provide transportation. No deficiencies cited during todays inspection, exit interview conducted with Lead Teacher, Maria Palacios and a copy of this report was provided. The annual inspection will be continued on a later date due to time constraint. A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED, POSTED NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE FACILITY, AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.
