What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Fermin Campos-Jaramillo and Teodoro Trujillo conducted an unannounced case management inspection today. The purpose of the inspection is to increase the capacity of the infant license from currently 30 infants to 100 infants. LPAs met with Site Director Evelyn Weimer and explained the purpose of today's inspection to her. LPAs Campos-Jaramillo and Teodoro Trujillo toured the facility both inside and out. Present during today's visit were 10 staff and 19 infants. A clearance from the Seaside Fire Department was received prior to today's visit. The infant program will use rooms #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, and #7 Previously on 8/15/23 the following rooms were measured: INFANT ROOMS: ROOM 1 22.333 x 25 = 558.325 - 127.712 encumbered space = 430.613 ROOM 2 20.333 x 16.250 = 330.411 ROOM 3 20.333 x 16.250 = 330.411 ROOM 4 20.333 x 16.250 = 330.411 ROOM 5 20.333 x 18.667 = 379.556 - 4.583 = 374.973 TOTAL INDOOR SPACE = 1,796.819 sq. ft. divided 35 = 51 children Today LPAs measured the additional rooms #6 and #7. Measurements for rooms number #6 and #7. Room 6 has 19. 583 x 16. 083 = 314.953 sq. ft. Room 7 has 22. 416 x 15.583 = 349.308 sq. ft. Total square footage for rooms #6 and #7 = 664.261 Total indoor square footage = 2461.08 divided by 35 = 70 infants ***********Report dated 10/18/23 continues on page 2********** ********Report continues from page 1*************** Outdoor space measurements were not taken during today's visit since the facility is currently active and was previously measured. INFANTS PLAY YARD: Total Infant Yard = 4,147.575 TOTAL OUTDOOR SPACE = 4,147.575 sq. ft. divided 75 = 55 children There are 10 sinks (150) and 6 toilets (90) available for the infants. There are 85 cribs/ cots/ play pens, 8 highchairs, 13 tables, 18 chairs, 30 cubbies, and 5 changing tables available for children. There is a changing table within arms length of the sink in each classroom. The infant changing table has raised sides that are at least 3 inches in height. The infant changing table(s) has a vinyl changing pad that is at least 1 inch thick and in good condition. Director understands the conditions, limitations, and capacity specifications of the Facility license. LPAs observed all furniture and equipment is in good condition and safe for the children. LPAs observed fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguishers and working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. LPAs observed rooms #6 and #7 are still in the process of having walls painted and flooring work completed and setting up the furniture. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Site Director Evelyn Weimer. No deficiencies were cited today. Notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with the posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. LPAs advised Site Director Evelyn Weimer that a license for 70 infants will be approved pending the following: - Site Director will request a waiver for shared use of playground. - Site Director will submit a schedule for shared use of the playground with the preschool program. - Site Director will submit an updated LIC200A - Management's approval
