What Happened
Complaint investigation substantiated operation of Airbnb short-term rental with uncleared individuals present, creating immediate risk to children; two Type A deficiencies cited.
Observations
- active Airbnb listing verified at facility address
- uncleared Airbnb renter confirmed renting room 10/24-10/26/2025 without DSS background clearance
- evidence shows licensee advertised home on Airbnb and operated rentals including weekdays when children present
- licensee falsely declared under penalty of perjury that she never operated Airbnb

CRIMINAL RECORD CLEARANCE (d) All individuals subject to a criminal record review pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.871 shall prior to ...residing... in a licensed facility:(1) Obtain a California clearance...This requirement was not met as evidenced by: 10/24/25 LPA obtained information through interviews that licensee had an AIR BNB renter that did not obtain a criminal record clearance prior to residing in the home. This posses an immediate risk to the safety of children in care.
