Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Ouye met with Program Director, Darlene Howell for this change of location prelicensing. The application was received by the department on June 21, 2021, This facility is relocating from 300 Napa Junction Road, American Canyon. The program intends to run a morning session (9am to 12pm) and an afternoon session (1pm to 4pm). The facility program will not change. The facility has two side by side classrooms at Napa Junction Elementary School. A capacity determination was completed during this visit and the facility meets all of the regulatory requirements to be licensed at a capacity of 32 preschool children. The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are integrated into the elementary school fire alarm. There are two fire extinguishers. Each classroom has a fire extinguisher rated at a minimum of 2A10BC. The bathroom is located between the two classrooms. There are four sinks and four toilets in the bathroom. Each class also has two sinks for the children to use. There are a total of four toilets and eight sinks. There is sufficient furniture, equipment and toys for the children The outdoor activity area was measured and also meets square footage requirements to meet the requested capacity. There is sufficient outdoor equipment with fall protection for the children in care. The following will be required for licensure. The local fire authority has required a second gate egress point to be installed in the fence surrounding the outdoor activity area. When a second gate is installed and approved by the fire inspector, the facility will be approved for licensure.
