What the inspector wrote

Page 1 of 2 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek conducted a case management inspection of the facility for the purpose of decreasing capacity from 84 preschool children to 80 preschool age children by removing Room # 7 (Conference Room) from the license. LPA met with director, Robyn Delgado who toured the facility with LPA. There were a total of 17 children with 5 staff in three different rooms. Currently the facility is licensed for 84 preschool children in rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. The licensee has requested to provide care and supervision for 80 preschool children in rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 for ages 2 to 6 years old, Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Director\342\200\231s office area is located in the front of the facility next to the entrance and will serve as the isolation area for ill children temporarily until parents arrive. The staff/adult restroom will be used as the isolation restroom for ill children and is conveniently located close to the isolation area. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm Continued on page 2 Page 2 of 2 The indoor activity space measurement is as follows: Room # 1: 459 square feet Room # 2 408 square feet Room # 3: 435 square feet Room # 4 406 square feet Room # 5 : 435 square feet Room # 6 336 square feet Total indoor space is 2479 square feet divided by 35 = 70.82 (71 children) Total outdoor activity space measurement is as follows: Small playground: 4418 square feet divided by 75 = 58.9 (60 children) Large Playground: 6467 square feet divided by 75 = 86.22 (86 children). The facility has a waiver to share the large playground with school age children in different timing's since July 2013. The total capacity of school age license is 50 school age children and total capacity for preschool will be 71 children and the total outdoor space is enough for 146 children. The total requested capacity for both programs are 120 children. Total children toilets and sinks: Toilets: 10 x 15 = 150 children Sinks: 10 x 15 = 150 children Orange county Fire authority has approved the requested capacity of 84 preschool children. Based on today\342\200\231s measurements, and the sinks and toilets availability, the minimum factor is the indoor measurement which is enough for 71 children in 6 rooms. An updated license for a capacity of 71 children will be issued for rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days or $100 civil penalties will be assessed. An exit interview was completed. The report was reviewed and discussed. Appeal Rights were discussed. The applicant was provided a copy of their appeal rights (LIC 9058 12/15) and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. All appeals must be in writing and received by the Licensing office within 15 business days
