What the inspector wrote

On 6/06/2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA\342\200\231s), Karen Navar conducted an unannounced case management inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee-Katherine, Czaykowsk and was led on a tour of the facility. There were 12 children and three (3) staff member present. An on-site Facility Personnel Report Summary review indicates all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The facility was operating within ratios and capacity. During the inspection, LPA and licensee observed back patio/yard for outdoor play that has a pool. During pool inspection LPA observed a wrought iron fence that has a minimum height of 60inches and an access gate that opens/swings away from the swimming pool and is self-closing with a self-latching, key lockable device placed no more than 60 inches above the ground. A maximum vertical clearance of two inches from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure, no gaps or voids that can allow the passage of a sphere with a diameter equal to or greater than four inches. An alarm, that when placed in a swimming pool, will sound upon detecting an entrance into the water. A life ring with a minimum exterior diameter of 17 inches and labeled approved by the United States Coast Guard. A rescue pole with a body hook and a minimum fixed length of 12 feet. The licensee has a daily inspection log of the drowning prevention safety features and safety equipment that was available upon request with a log date of 6/06/2025 at 7:15a.m. LPA obtained pictures of gate latch, lockable device and vertical clearance of two inches from the ground to the bottom of the fence. No deficiencies cited. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee Katherine, Czaykowsk. (End of Report)
