What the inspector wrote

Page 1 of 2 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek conducted a case management inspection of the facility for the purpose of increasing the capacity from 78 preschool children to 86 children by removing 2 rooms off of the preschool license and adding them to infant licence, The facility is adding 2 school age rooms from school age program to their preschool program. The facility has closed the school age program as of 5/22/2023. LPA met with director, Alycia Tucker who gave LPA a tour of the facility. Currently the facility is licensed for 78 preschool children ages 2 to 6 years old in 4 rooms. LPA observed a total of 6 staff with 47 children in these rooms. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The facility has requested to provide care and supervision to 86 preschool children ages 2 to 6 years old in 5 rooms, Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm and one Friday until 10.00 pm. Children are dropped off, signed in and out electronically at the entrance of the building to go to assigned rooms. The facility has met all the posting requirements. All the classrooms were measured. The indoor activity space measurement for the current requested capacity is as follows: Preschool Room # 1 is: 487.53 square feet Preschool Room # 2 is: 674.28 square feet Preschool Room # 3 is: 923.61 square feet Preschool Room # 4 is: 946.20 square feet Preschool Room # 5 is: 1017.30 square feet Total indoor activity space is: 4048 square feet divided by 35=115.68 ( 116 children) Continued on page 2 Page 2 of 2 Total of toilets 10 X 15 = 150 children Total of sinks: 12 X 15 = 180 children The sinks are located inside the classrooms. Total outdoor activity space measurement is as follows: Outdoor space for the preschool playground # 1 is 11767 square feet divided by 75 = 115.68 (116 children). Outdoor space for the preschool playground # 2 is 10418 square feet divided by 75- 138.90 (139 children). No hazardous observed on the playground. There are adequate cushioning under the climbing structure. The facility is equipped with carbon monoxide detector. All the classrooms have age appropriate toys and equipment. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platform A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the director, Alycia Tucker. Based on today’s indoor and outdoor measurements, the sinks and toilets availability, the request of the facility for increasing to 86 children in Preschool Rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 will be final reviewed and discussed with management in the Regional Office. The facility will be notified if any additional information is required. End of report
