What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Desai, Ketki conducted an unannounced Case Management Licensee initiated inspection at the above facility for the purpose of increasing the School age capacity by adding a new room # 2. LPA observed 24 school age children with two staff members, providing care and supervision to the children. Currently facility is licensed for 28 School age children, 4.9 years to 12 years old in one assigned room # 1. Now facility is adding Room # 2 to the School age program, increasing the total school age capacity to 40 children. School age component has their own yard. Facility shall now use Room # 1 & 2 for the School age program Facility Director Ms. Vasseghi, Mojagan gave a tour of the facility including new School age classroom and school age play yard. The following was observed in the two School age rooms · Age appropriate furniture and equipment’s · Educations items / Arts and Crafts activities. · Room is well lighted with ventilation. · Drinking water is available through filtered water pitchers and personal water bottles · Facility offers 2 PM snacks to the school age children during regular school operating hours and during full day program, during school breaks Breakfast/ Lunch and PM snack is offered. Facility offers transportation services to the School age children in their designated vans. School age children are picked up and dropped off to the surrounding schools within the radius of two- three miles. (1) School age children have individual cubbies for storage · Electronic sign in and out · CDC Guidelines are being followed. · Classrooms has specific gender bathrooms designated to the School age program in the classroom · There is no napping in this program. Facility does have an option available if the child desires to take a nap. On today’s inspection two school age rooms were measured. Indoor activity space: 1603'75 divided by 35 = 45 children ( Facility has requested 40 School age children) Total sinks: 6 X 15 = 90 children / Total toilets: 3 X 15= 45(children) Facility has sufficient sinks and toilets to support the requested capacity of 40 school age children Outdoor space : Facility has a designated School age yard, which is accessed directly from the classroom door. School age yard has a surrounding fence with soft cushion flooring, placed on the age appropriate toy structures with shade to absorb any falls and shade is provided by a building structure and a shaded canopy. There is a bike trail in the yard. Their is one exit door at the end of the yard, when opened accidentally it has latched lock installed it opens into the facility parking lot. Outdoor activity space: 8236'48 divided by 75 = 109 children. Facility has sufficient outdoor space to accommodate 40 School age children. After a tour of the center, no deficiency was observed. Facility Administrator is current on the required Pediatric CPR/First Training: Valid up to 0 (2) LPA provided Guardian Information and website info: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/cdss-programs/community-care-licensing/caregiver-background-check/guardian Facility has access to the Guardian system. Fire clearance has been granted by Orange County Fire Authority Based on today’s room measurements/ Outdoor space with sinks and toilets: Facility has sufficient space to accommodate 40 School age children in Room # 1 & 2. Operating hours: Monday to Friday 6:30 am to 6:30 PM. Total Capacity : 154 children Criminal Record Statement : Facility Representative (Ms. Vasseghi, Mojgan . ) was was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Safe Sleep : LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Facility Representative (Ms. Vasseghi, Mojgan ) discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed [applicant, licensee, or facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
