* *This is an amended report to provide detail information on complaint and staff interviews. LPA interviewed 7 staff members. 7 out of 7 staff members stated they have not witnessed any staff members allowing children to use Clorox wipes, however, some staff did indicate that they have heard from some children that the children are allowed to use the Clorox wipes. Staff #1 (S1) stated, yes, children clean after themselves, paper, materials, and puzzles. Teacher's wipe the tables with wipes. The children help with paper towels with water. Children wipe tables with a wet paper napkins. Staff only wipe with wipes, not the children. S2 stated, from what I know, some kids have brought it to my attention. They say, " we wipe the table with Clorox wipes". S4 stated, No, we clean the tables. If children, ask to help. The children wipe with wet paper towels with water, they get from sink. S5 stated, I haven't personally witnessed it, the kids in S1 class with offer to help with the wipes. The children will say we use them in S1 class. S7 stated children use a paper towel with water. Sometimes we napkins to wipe tables. LPA Duron interviewed 5 children. 3 out of 5 children stated staff #1 (S1) has allowed them to use Clorox wipes to clean the tables. Child #1 (C1) stated, yes sometimes we use Clorox wipes and sometimes we use wet paper towels to clean the tables. Child #2 (C2) stated, we use Clorox wipes to clean sometimes. Child #5 (C5) stated, yes, sometimes we use Clorox wipes and sometimes we use wet paper towels. LPA Duron interviewed 4 parents. All interviewed parents stated they did not have any concern with facility. During the initial inspection dated 10/18/23, LPA Duron observed staff spraying tables with cleaner and staff wiping tables with paper towels. Based on LPA\342\200\231s interviews, observations and reviewing records, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED. California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1 Section Buildings and Grounds 101238(g) Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that could pose a danger if readily available to children shall be stored where inaccessible to children. Please refer to attached 9099D for documentation of deficiencies. This requirement is met as evidence by: Based on LPA\342\200\231s interviews that staff have allowed daycare to have access to cleaning agent, which poses an immediate health risk to the children in care. LPA Duron informed Director Karen Barbosa that this report dated 1/3/24 document one of Type A citation. Type A citation which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there is an immediate risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care.LPA Duron informed the to provide a copy of this licensing report dated 1/3/24 that documents any Type A citation(s) to parents/guardians of all children currently enrolled by the next business day or the next day the children are in care, and to any newly enrolled parents/guardians for 12 months from the date of this report. A signed Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Report (LIC 9224), or other written statement, must be placed in the child's file for verification. An exit interview was completed. The report was reviewed and discussed. Appeal Rights were provided. All appeals must be in writing and received by the Licensing office within 15 business days. The facility representative was informed that the \342\200\234Notice of Site Visit\342\200\235 must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to post will result in Civil Penalties of $100.00. The \342\200\234Notice of Site Visit\342\200\235 must be posted on or adjacent to the door. Page 2 of 2
