What the inspector wrote

On 8/4/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Thompson conducted an unannounced Case Management to ensure that the facility is staying within compliance of Title 22 regulations. LPA and licensee Gina Keough-Somma toured the facility inside and outside. The floor and yard plan (LIC 999) were verified. LPA observed licensee caring for two children during todays visit. The facility was operating within its licensed capacity and within compliance of staff-to-child ratios. An on-site Facility Personnel Report Summary review showed that all facility residents, staff, or other individuals who require background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. During today\342\200\231s inspection, LPA toured the inside and outside areas identified in the facility sketch as accessible to childcare children. Off limits areas are made inaccessible by means of baby safety locks and safety gates. The childcare area consists of living room, family room, kitchen, dining room, one bedroom located downstairs, and one bathroom across from the downstairs bedroom. Last fire/disaster drill documented on 6/20/2025. Licensee stated, they use the back yard for outdoor play, LPA inspected the back yard, and it was found to be incompliance. (continue to page 2) (page 2) The facility has a pool with a surrounding gate that has a minimum height of 60 inches and a n access gate that opens away from the swimming pool and is self-closing with a self-latching, key lockable device placed no lower than 60 inches above the ground. A maximum vertical clearance of two inches from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure. No gaps or voids that can allow the passage of a sphere with a diameter equal to or greater than four inches. An alarm that, when placed in a swimming pool, will sound upon detecting an entrance into the water. A life ring with a minimum exterior diameter of 17 inches and labeled as approved by the United States Coast Guard. A rescue pole with a body hook and a minimum fixed length of 12 feet. The licensee has a daily inspection log of the drowning prevention safety features and safety equipment that was available upon request. The licensee American Heart Association CPR/First Aid certification expired 4/18/2027. Beginning September 1, 2016, Health and Safety (H&S) 1597.622 states, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a family childcare home if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Proof of immunization against pertussis, measles for licensee reviewed and within compliance. Beginning March 31, 2018, H&S Code 1596.8662 requires all licensed providers and employees to complete mandated reporting training, and to renew the training every two years. Licensee mandated reporter AB1207 certification expired 4/9/2027. Children\342\200\231s records for children present during LPA\342\200\231s inspection were reviewed for a copy of the emergency information card that contains all the information specified by regulation (LIC 700), Immunization records, Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance (LIC282), Consent for Emergency Medical Treatment (LIC627), Notification of Parent\342\200\231s Rights (LIC995A) and found to be in compliance. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Gina Keough-Somma. End of Report.
