What the inspector wrote

On 03/03/2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Deschampe conducted an unannounced Plan of Correction (POC) inspection in response to the Type A violation issued on 01/08/2026: Health & Safety Code (HSC) 1596.871(c)(1)(A): Subsequent to initial licensure, a person specified in subdivision (b) who is not exempt from fingerprinting shall obtain either a criminal record clearance or an exemption from disqualification, pursuant to subdivision (f) of this section or Section 1522.7, from the State Department of Social Services prior to employment, residence, or initial presence in the facility. LPA arrived at the facility at 12:37 PM and was allowed entry to the facility by the facility representative, Melinda Marchese. LPA explained the purpose of the inpsection. Census was taken as LPA was guided through the facility by the facility representative. Total enrollment is 38 children. At the time of census, there was 31 children with 5 staff. Current census is due to alternate schedules. A review of staff criminal clearance record on this date 03/03/2026 indicated that all facility staff or other individuals who required caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The deficiency that was cited on LIC809-D on 01/08/2026 has been cleared through LPA observation, interview, and record review. Staff 1 (S1) received criminal background clearance on 01/10/2026. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative, Melinda Marchese. The notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. The facility representative was provided a copy of the appeal rights (LIC 9058 ) and their signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. All appeals must be in writing and received by the Regional Office within 15 business days. End of Report
