What the inspector wrote
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dianna Valdez Santana conducted an onsite inspection for the purpose of an Annual Random. LPA and Director Brenda Pittman toured the facility inside and outside. The floor and yard plan (LIC 999) were verified. Census was taken inside individual classrooms. The overall census observed was 34 preschool-age children with 6 Staff present at the time of inspection. Facility hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
During the inspection it was determined the facility is operating within its licensed capacity and within compliance of staffing ratios. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
While touring the indoor activity space, LPA did not observe any items which could pose a danger to children (poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, or hazardous items). There are water jugs with filtered drinking water available indoors for children in care. Children also bring their water bottles from home. The children's bathrooms were clean and sanitary. Children nap on cots if they choose to sleep, and bedding is stored individually and washed by parents every Friday. Children bring lunch from home; morning and afternoon snacks are provided by the facility. Food prep area observed to be clean and sanitary. Food is properly stored. Snack menus were posted where they could be reviewed by parents. Floors, equipment, and furniture were clean and were observed to be in good repair and free of sharp edges.
The facility has conducted an emergency drill within the past six months, last drill was conducted on 03/13/2025. The facility has a working carbon monoxide detectors, fire alarms, and fire extinguishers. Facility met all posting requirements. The California Child Passenger Safety Law was posted by the entrance of the facility.

The outdoor activity space was inspected for compliance. The playground was enclosed by a fence at least four feet in height. The surface of the outdoor activity space was well maintained and free of hazards. The facility has commercially produced woodchips around the climbing equipment and other similar equipment appeared to be enough to absorbs falls. Drinking water in the outdoor activity space is provided by water jug and water bottle filling station. The outdoor equipment and toys were in good repair and free of sharp edges. There are no bodies of water present at the facility. The facility grounds were safe, sanitary and in good repair.
Staff files were reviewed during the facility inspection this date; 5 staff files were reviewed and found within compliance. Health screening and immunizations as required were reviewed. Beginning September 1, 2016, Health and Safety (H&S) 1597.622 states, a person shall not be employed or volunteer at a childcare center if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. Proof of immunization against pertussis and measles for 5 staff were reviewed and within compliance
Beginning March 31, 2018, H&S Code 1596.8662 requires all directors and employees to complete mandated reporting training, and to renew the training every two years. 5 out 5 staff had current Mandated Reporter training certificates. Director's MRT expires
7/24/25.
4 out of 5 Staff possess a current EMSA approved Pediatric CPR/First Aid certifications, which expires
8/22/2026.
Children's records were reviewed, and there was a separate, complete, and current record for each child. A random sample of 5 children\342\200\231s files were reviewed for documentation of the child\342\200\231s name, address, and telephone number of the child\342\200\231s authorized representative and of relatives or others that can assume responsibility for the child if the authorized representative cannot be reached when necessary (LIC 700) and a medical assessment. In the areas reviewed, the children\342\200\231s files were found to be in full compliance. Sign in/out procedure was reviewed for compliance.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was reviewed and discussed. as an additional resource. LPA also informed director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were observed of the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12 at the time of the visit.
An Inspection and exit interview were conducted with Director, Brenda Pittman. The report was reviewed and discussed. All appeals rights were given. The facility representative was informed that the \342\200\234Notice of Site Visit\342\200\235 must be posted for 30 consecutive days. The \342\200\234Notice of Site Visit\342\200\235 must be posted on or adjacent to the door. Failure to post will result in Civil Penalties of $100.00.
