What the inspector wrote

Page 2 During the investigation LPA conducted interviews on 04/23/21, 05/10/21, 05/25/21, 06/14/21, and 06/16/21 with 7 staff, 6 children, and 10 parents. LPA also obtained copies of the children’s roster and staff roster. Interviews with children revealed children felt safe in the facility. Interviews with 6 of 6 children revealed teachers pat them on the back to help them sleep and if they still can’t sleep teachers either give them a book or the children just lay there or go to the office while the other children nap. Children did not disclose being physically forced to nap. Interviews with 7 of 7 staff revealed staff will help a child nap by patting the child on the back for the first half of nap time then provide the child with a quiet activity or the child can just lay there if the child chooses. 7 of 7 staff stated no one physically forces children to nap at this facility. Interviews with 10 of 10 parents revealed parents were happy with the facility and stated their children were happy, parents did not disclose any concerns with care and supervision provided at this facility. Parents would recommend or have already recommended this facility to other families. LPA interviewed subject child who stated teachers would pat subject child’s back to help subject child sleep during nap time. Subject child stated being given a toy or sent to the office if subject child couldn’t sleep while other children slept. Subject child did not disclose being physically forced to sleep and stated teachers were nice. The information provided by the subject child during the interview did not corroborate the information the subject child initially disclosed and provided to the reporting party. Based on LPA's interviews conducted on 04/23/21, 05/10/21, 05/25/21, 06/14/21, and 06/16/21 with 7 staff, 6 children, and 10 parents there was not enough evidence to substantiate the above allegations, therefore, the allegations were found to be unsubstantiated. This agency has investigated the complaint alleging staff handles child inappropriately and staff forces child to take naps; although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not enough preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated.
