What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Cynthia Sun and Long Pham conducted a case management inspection of the facility for the purpose of changing classrooms #1 and # 2 from inactive to active. According to licensing records, facility has been inactive since 01/26/2024. LPAs met with Site Director, Lizet Quiroz, who gave LPAs a walk through of the facility. Currently the facility is licensed for 48 preschool children in Room 1 and Room 2. There were no children in care due to the facility being inactive. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates all facility residents, staff, or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The facility has requested to become active and start services on 7/1/2025. Classroom #1 will have 24 children and classroom #2 will have 24 children a total of 48 children. Facility will operate Monday to Friday from 6:15 AM to 6:00 PM. Food preparation area is a full kitchen which is equipped with stove, microwave oven, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer. It is located across from the classrooms. Center will provide breakfast, lunch and PM snacks. Classrooms are adequately equipped with age and size appropriate furniture and equipment. Drinking water in the indoor activity space will be supplied by a water fountain. PAGE 1 of 2 The inside activity area was measured and the findings are as follows: Classroom #1 882.50 Classroom #2 843.09 Total indoor activity area: 1725.59 divided by 35 sq ft = 49 children Bathrooms: Total children toilets and sinks: 4 toilets X 15 = 60 children 6 sinks X 15 = 90 children The outside activity area was measured and the findings are as follows: Total outdoor activity area: 36.18.84 divided by 75 sq ft = 48 children Playground is completely enclosed by a fence. Outdoor activity area is supplied with age and size appropriate equipment including a climbing structure. An adequate amount of cushioning material is in place under the climbing structure. Trikes, sand and water table and sports equipment, outside easel are outside. Shade is provided by canopies and water pitcher provide drinking water. California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Section 101238.2, Section 101438.2, and Section 101538.2 require 75 square feet per child of outdoor activity space. During inspection it was disclosed by Site Director, Lizet Quiroz that the classroom #2 ceiling was replaced. Mrs. Quiroz stated the City Inspector came on 6/17/2025 to conduct an inspection of the facility and did not provide any visit documentation. Therefore, Licensing will submit an STD 850 Fire Clearance application to the Fire Department as soon as possible. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
