What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ketki Desai conducted an unannounced Case Management, Licensee initiated inspection for a change in capacity for Preschool age children. Licensee is requesting a decrease to the current Preschool capacity from 75 Preschool children to 63 preschool age children (2-6 years old). Room # 2,3 and 4 are licensed as Preschool rooms. The Licensee shall remove Room # 2 from the Preschool age License and decrease the capacity to 63 preschool age children. Room # 2 is now being added to the Infant License. LPA met with Facility Administrator Ms. Anderson, Misty who gave a tour of the Preschool classrooms. Current census today in two rooms was 14 preschool age children with 2 teachers. Room # 2 was not in use. All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair in the preschool rooms. LPA measured Room # 3 and 4 to obtain Indoor measurements Room # 3: 31’42 x 27’92= 877’25 Room # 4: 35’92 x 26’17= 940’02 Total Indoor capacity: 1817’92 divided by 35 = 51’92 (52 children) Total Sinks: 8 x 15= 120 Total Toilets: 9 x 15= 135 Outdoor Activity Space: LPA also measured the current Preschool yard due to changes in capacity. Preschool yard: 45’42 x 45 = 2043’90 Total outdoor space: 2043’90 divided by 75 = 27’25 Based on today's inspection facility has indoor space to accommodate only 52 preschool age children (2-6 years old) in two assigned rooms # 3 and 4. It does not have sufficient space to accommodate 63 children as requested on the application. Facility shall also request a Waiver for Outdoor staggered schedule in-between the two classrooms. Administrator Ms. Anderson, Misty is current on the required CPR training (7/23) License for 52 Preschool age children (2-6 old) in Room # 3 and 4. Monday to Friday (6:30 AM – 6:00PM) shall be granted after the final approval by the management. Report was read to the Facility Administrator and appeal rights were provided.
