What the inspector wrote

An unannounced case management inspection was conducted on this date by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stacy Torrence for the purpose of an increase in capacity. The facility is currently licensed for eight infants and is requesting to increase to 9 infants. LPA Torrence met with Director Michelle Mote, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Census was taken. There were seven infants present; with three staff supervising. Currently facility\342\200\231s operations hours are Monday-Friday; 6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m., serving ages 0-18 months; in classrooms: #2 only. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who required caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The following was observed in Infant Room: \302\267 Age appropriate furniture \302\267 Infant toys and equipment \302\267 Sign in/out procedures were reviewed \302\267 There is a changing table with the sink within arm\342\200\231s reach \302\267 Changing table has safe padding \302\267 The room has a specific napping area where five cribs are arranged. \302\267 Each crib has a fitted mattress \302\267 Room is divided by a plexi-glass divider separating the napping crib area and the play area. Total previously approved indoor space for infants: 340 sqft. divided by 35= 9 children Sink: 1 x 15= 15 children Playground is completely enclosed by a fence. Outdoor activity area is supplied with age and size appropriate equipment including small climbing structures. An adequate amount of cushioning material is in place under the climbing equipment. Shade is provided by an extended roof and water is provided by water cups and parent provide purified water for refill. Total outdoor activity space: 996 sqft. divided by 75 = 13 children Based on today\342\200\231s Indoor and Outdoor measurements, sink & toilet availability, center has enough activity space to support the requested capacity of 9 infants. Fire clearance was granted. Exit interview conducted with director Michelle Mote. Notice of Site Visit was posted. Appeal right were discussed and presented to the Director. Director was informed that the Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Failure to post it will result in civil penalties of $100.
