Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 8/7/2025, LPA made an unannounced visit to the facility and interviewed four (4) staff. All staff interviewed stated that children\342\200\231s diapers are checked every 1 to 2 hours and as often as needed throughout the day. Diaper changes are documented by staff on the facility\342\200\231s communication app for parents. Staff also stated that children are fed during scheduled mealtimes, but feeding schedules may vary between children. If children refuse their bottle/food, staff attempt to feed them again after a little break. Staff stated that, per school policy, all leftovers are thrown out by the end of the day instead of being sent home. Staff added that they document children\342\200\231s bottle/food intake on the communication app for parents. The app allows staff to specify how much each child has eaten: all, most, some, or none of their food. Facility director provided LPA with classroom schedules and other documents pertinent to the investigation. Children could not be qualified for interviews. Nine (9) parents were interviewed. Parents interviewed did not provide any concern regarding the allegations. The Orange County Regional Child Care Licensing Office has investigated the complaint alleging (1) staff are not feeding bottles to infant as needed, and (2) staff are not changing infant's diapers as needed: although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there was not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED. No deficiencies cited. Report was reviewed with Director, Mary Zenk and Notice of Site Visit was given which must remain posted for 30 days.
