What the inspector wrote

An unannounced Case Management (Licensee initiated)site inspection was conducted today by LPA Ketki Desai, met with facility Administrator Ms. Green, Mona. LPA inspected and measured the new portable # 32, facility is also requesting to increase their capacity to 48 children inbetween the two portables. The new Preschool classroom (portable #32) is adjacent to the main gate in front of the second parking lot. The program shall continue to operate from: M-F 7:00am--5:00pm in portable #31, while portable # 32 shall operate from 8:30 to 11:30 am & 12:30 to 3:30 PM at Tamura Elementary School. There is no napping activity in Portable # 32 Licensee is seeking to provide care for 48 preschool children ages (3-5 years). LPA met with director Ms. Green, Mona and toured the entire facility indoors & outdoors and the following measurements were taken: Total Indoor space: 1716'82 divided by 35 = 49.05 ( 49 children) There is 2 sinks and 1 toilet inside of each portables. Center has a waiver for children to share restroom with elementary children. Outdoor activity yard was observed to have age appropriate climbing structures with safe fall absorbing cushion underneath (wooden chips and form cushion) it has sufficient shade and is fenced completely on all the sides. Center has a waiver request to share playground with Kindergarten children. Base on today\342\200\231s measurement and the sink & toilet availability, Center have enough activity space to support to the requested capacity of 48 children . The following was observed: \302\267 Classrooms are adequately equipped with age and size appropriate furniture and equipment \302\267 Water fountains are available for inside and outside. \302\267 Playground is enclosed by appropriate fence and shared with Kindergarten children. \302\267 Adequate shade is provided by trees. \302\267 Food preparation area is equipped with refrigerator; sink with hot and cold running water: storage area; adequate amount of food supplies. Children are served AM/PM snacks in Portable # 31 and 32. Children in Portable # 31 bring in their own lunch. \302\267 Ill children will temporarily rest next to teacher's desk in the classroom and use the bathroom located outside the classroom. . Staff bathroom is in the elementary office. \302\267 Medication will be stored in the locked box in the file cabinet. \302\267 First Aid kit is complete. Licensee was notified about disaster drills, posting requirements, children records, mandated child abuse and injury/ death reporting, and Never Shake a Baby. Fire clearance has been received from Fountain Valley Fire Department and granted approval for the requested capacity. Use of Portable #32, as a classroom has also been approved by Fountain Valley School District authority. Facility meets all licensing requirements and file will be submitted for approval as of today. A License for 48 preschool children (3-5 years old) in Portable 31 and 32. M-F 7:00am--5:00pm in portable #31/ portable # 32 : 8:30 to 11:30 am & 12:30 to 3:30 PM . Portable # 32 shall follow Title V and Title 22j regulations. Waiver to Share Elementary school restroom and Outdoor spaces. Exit interview conducted and Appeal rights presented. Notice of Site visit was posted on today's inspection.
