Case management deficiency follow-up observed infant room staff leaving unsupervised area to attend other tasks multiple times. One staff member left 8 infants to open front door twice and then went to kitchen, leaving infants unattended.

Observations

  • One infant staff left infant room to open front door lobby (15 steps away) - occurred twice around 11:10am
  • Same staff member left infant room to go to kitchen
  • 8 infants left with one staff member in infant room
  • 6 children in highchairs, 2 infants napping when staff left
