(Page 2) During investigation, LPA interviewed three (3) staff and four (4) parents. During interview, Staff 1 (S1), who witnessed the incident, stated that they opened a door to reach inside the classroom. As they opened the door, a child stuck their finger in the door frame which caused the finger to get caught between the door and door frame. LPA\342\200\231s record reviews revealed that this was an isolated incident. There were no other incidents like the one that led to the allegations. Since the incident, staff interviewed stated that children are no longer lining up by the door. Instead, children are lining up on the opposite wall to prevent further possible injuries. Regarding the allegation of healthful accommodations, staff interviewed stated that they provide healthful accommodations for daycare children by: cleaning and changing the children regularly, notating and communicating all incidents to administrative staff and authorized representatives of children, and ensuring that the facility\342\200\231s physical plant is in accordance with Title 22 regulations. LPA could not interview children due to the children's age and their developmental stage. Parents interviewed did not provide any concern regarding the allegations. The Orange County Regional Child Care Licensing Office has investigated the complaint alleging (1) staff did not prevent a daycare child's finger from being caught in the door, and (2) staff did not provide healthful accommodations for the daycare children: although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there was not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated. No deficiencies cited. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Jamie Patopoff. End of report.
