What the inspector wrote

On 07/10/25, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anna Chan conducted a Plan of Correction (POC) inspection in response to 1 Type B Pool Safety Violation issued on 06/05/25, Health and Safety Code 1596.814(b)(1). LPA met with Director Celida Cambuston and explained the purpose for the visit. Overall census was 33 preschool children and 7 staff. Children were in the play yard when LPA arrived. During the inspection it was determined the facility is operating within its licensed capacity and within compliance of staffing ratios. A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates all facility staff and other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The areas cited were re-inspected; (1) The vertical clearance from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure was re-measured and meets the standard 2” vertical clearance. (2) There were pool alarms installed in the pool (20’ x 40’), and another alarm installed in the spa pool. All Pool alarms were ASTM F2208 standard. Pool alarm documentation was provided by the director. LPA observed and the director tested pool alarms and made a sound upon detection of motion in the water. 2 more pool alarms are being installed during the visit. (3) The Director also provided LPA a daily inspection log of the drowning prevention safety features and safety equipment before opening the facility. The areas re-inspected were found to be corrected. POC letter given. No further action needed at this time. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Celida Cambuston. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal Rights provided. End of Report
