What the inspector wrote

On 11/05/25, at 1:45pm Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Anna Chan conducted an 3-yr Required inspection. LPA met with Director Celida Cambuston. The license has been inactive since 2023. Licensee has requested to be active again. LPA and Director toured the facility inside and outside and the floor and yard plan were verified. There were no children present at the time of visit. This will be an after school program. Facility hours are 6:30a.m.- 6:00p.m., Monday through Friday. During the inspection of the indoor activity space, Room #6, items which could pose a danger to children (detergents, cleaning compounds, and medications) were observed to be stored out of the reach of children. Age-appropriate materials are provided. PM snacks will be provided by the facility. Food is not being prepared in the facility. Only dry snacks will be served. Floors, equipment, and furniture were clean and were observed to be in good repair and free of sharp edges. Water is provided by system filtration, and Sports bottles are also brought by children from home with the child\342\200\231s name on it. The facility will be having an event this week, shelves in the school-age room are being covered with black cloth. Director will provide LPA photos of shelves when the event concludes. The children's restroom is a jack and jill restroom with room #5. Director stated they will put a barrier between room 5 and 6. Proof of barrier will be sent to LPA. The restroom was inspected and was free of any hazardous items. There were 5 toilets and 4 sinks. The children's bathrooms are clean and sanitary. Page 1 Children will not nap at the facility. The facility has a working carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher. Facility met all posting requirement. The California Child Passenger Safety Law was posted by the entrance of the facility. The outdoor activity space was inspected for compliance. The playground was enclosed by a fence at least four feet in height. The surface of the outdoor activity space was well maintained and free of hazards. The cushioning material used, sand and grass appeared to be enough to absorb falls. Drinking water will be provided by refillable sports bottles with the child\342\200\231s name on it. The outdoor equipment and toys were in good repair and free of sharp edges. The facility has a shared playground waiver between the preschool and school-age. There are bodies of water present at the facility. An In-ground pool and a separate spa was observed during inspection. The gate self-latches and self-closes and swings away from the pool. Bodies of water checklist was conducted. Director and LPA were able to test the working alarm. LPA measured the vertical clearance from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure, and measurement showed less than 2 inches vertical gap from the ground. LPA reviewed daily pool log. There was a life ring with a diameter of 17\342\200\235, a rescue pole with a body hook and a minimum of fixed length of 12'. Director stated they will have a current roster of children in care. Fire Drill log was available. Director was reminded fire drill shall be conducted every 6 months. Children's files and staff files were not reviewed due to not having any children enrolled yet because the license was inactive. The enrollment packet was reviewed with director. The director's Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is current and expires 09/2027. Currently there are no medications for children in care. Facility conducted Lead Testing on November 7, 2023. Transfer Request (LIC9182). The Director was informed that Licensing Quarterly Updates are available at www.ccld.ca.gov and may request to be added to an email list to receive a Quarterly Update by contacting the Child Care Advocate at childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov or at www.ccld.ca.gov LPA provided Guardian Information and website info: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/cdss-programs/community-care-licensing/caregiver-background-check/guardian Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. In the areas evaluated no deficiencies were observed in the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12 at the time of visit. An Inspection and exit interview were completed with Director Celida Cambuston. The report was reviewed and discussed. \342\200\234Notice of Site Visit\342\200\235 must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Appeal Rights were provided. Page 3 of 3
