What Happened
Staff practice of warming up packaged food from home contradicts facility written food service policy, substantiating Type B admission policy violation. Allegations of out-of-ratio operation, incident reporting failures, and unsanitary water were unsubstantiated.
Observations
- Dana Montessori School Policy explicitly states thermos requirement and no microwaving
- 2 of 3 staff interviewed stated they DO warm up food if parents request it
- Policy/practice discrepancy creates health and safety risk
- Type B citation issued for Title 22 Section 101218(a)(7) Admission Policies - Food Service
- Ratio allegations: 1:12 ratio in classroom; no evidence of violations
- Incident reporting: Staff document and report incidents appropriately
- Water safety: Lead testing current and compliant; playground faucet clean and functional
