Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) A. Silva conducted an unannounced case management visit assisted by Director Tamara Kim. The licensee requested the addition of a “New Room” ( Toddler Room #5 ) for 12 toddlers. The license’s total capacity did not change (180 total license capacity). Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:00 am-6:00 pm. Census was taken; there were 8 staff and 38 toddlers present at the time of inspection. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. Based on a report dated 02/10/2023, measurements for the total indoor activity space for Toddler Rooms #1, #2, #3, and #4 is 2001 square feet and the total outdoor playground area is 3830 square feet. LPA was advised that there have been no changes to the outdoor activity space in terms of square footage. During today’s visit, LPA measured one additional indoor activity area (Toddler Room #5). Total indoor activity space for Room #5 measured 379.3 square feet, which is not sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity but will allow 11 children. Toddler Room 5 has a restroom. LPA observed two sinks and two toilets available for children’s use in Room #5. Fire clearance was granted on 09/24/2024. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for children. Filtered drinking water is available in the classrooms. LPA did not observed any hazardous items accessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Continue on page 2. Page 2 The total indoor activity space for toddlers, including Toddler Rooms #1, #2, #3, #4, and #5, allows for a total capacity of 68 children. Outdoor activity space for toddlers is 3830 square feet, which can accommodate 51 children at a time. The facility representative understands that there can be only up to 51 children in the playground at the same time. The toddler option component has its own restrooms and playground. Based on the measurement of the toddler classrooms, outdoor space, and number of toilets and sink, the facility meets the requirements for the requested capacity of 59 toddlers. The director was informed that the maximum group of toddler from Toddler Option Component is 12 children with 2 staff. If this number exceeds, a new group shall be separated from the other group. The facility representative understands that commingling preschool and toddler children is not permitted. The facility did not have any waivers at the time of this inspection.
