Follow-up on corrections·February 7, 2024

On February 7, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Lea Habtom and Matthew Gallo arrived at Kindercare location in Rocklin to close a complaint. LPAs conducted a case management inspection with assistant director, Kim Stayton. There was a census of 43 preschool children and 12 toddlers being supervised by 8 staff in rooms PreK, Preschool and Discovery Preschool classrooms. The purpose of this case management is to address fingerprint clearances/transfers for employees assisting or working at the facility. LPA reminded assistant director that all staff must obtain a criminal record clearance, exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Child Care Center. LPAs record reviews provided evidence that one staff worked in the facility without having their clearance or documentation transferred to the facility. Based on today's inspection, one Type A deficiency is being cited on 809-D. Exit interview was conducted and this report was reviewed with assistant director, Kim Stayton. Appeal rights have been provided. Notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Title 22 Deficiency has been cited on the attached LIC 809-D . LPA Lea Habtom informed assistant director Kim Stayton that this report dated February 7, 2024 document(s) 1 Type A citation(s) which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there is/are immediate risk(s) to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. Also, LPA Lea Habtom informed the licensee Kim Stayton to provide a copy of this licensing report dated February 7, 2024 that documents any Type A citation(s) to parents/guardians of all children currently enrolled by the next business day or the next day the children are in care, and to any newly enrolled parents/guardians for 12 months from the date of this report. A signed Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Report (LIC 9224), or other written statement, must be placed in the child's file for verification. Appeal Rights given.
