This is an application requesting a classroom change from the lower Auburn fairgrounds to the upper Auburn fairgrounds. The address will remain the same. The facility will now have two separate classrooms, one that will serve twelve (12) school aged children and one that will serve eighteen (18) preschool children. The preschool children are in the room to the left of the restrooms, while the school aged room is on the right. The facility's hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm.
LPA conducted a health and safety inspection in all areas accessible to both the school aged and preschool children. There is one (1) main preschool classroom, with a separate area within, that can serve as two preschool rooms. There is one school aged classroom. There are two toilets and one sink for preschool and two toilets and one sink for school aged children. There is a total of 4 toilets and 2 sinks available to children, and a separate staff restroom is available. School aged children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the office area of their classroom and preschool children who become ill will be isolated in a small area within the secondary preschool room, located in a corner. The facility has an adequate number of cots for children to use during nap times.
All outdoor and indoor passageways, stairways, inclines, ramps, open porches, and other areas of potential hazard were observed to be free of obstruction. The childcare center was observed be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. Floors of all rooms have a surface that is safe and clean. A comfortable temperature for children shall be maintained at all times. There is one outdoor area that will be currently utilized for both classrooms on a rotating basis, to separate the two age groups. There is a secondary playground, under construction for the older children that will not be licensed until construction is complete. The playground is separated by a fence and gate. LPA will return at a later time to measure and review the playground before licensing.
The outdoor play area is fenced with a wrought iron fence that is at least four feet tall. The play equipment is age appropriate for children ages 2 years to 5 years. The playground also offers activities for the older children, that are school aged, which is separate of the preschool play equipment and activities.
