Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 5/23/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Matthew Gallo met with the facility representative Leana Greene for the purpose of a case management visit. Today's census included 14 preschool children supervised by 3 staff. The licensee has requested to modify the rooms it uses for care. The facility is a combination center comprising of two floors. Previously, the preschool license operated on the upper floor, and a school aged license operated on the lower floor. The school aged license is currently on inactive status and no care is being provided to school aged children. The licensee has requested that space used by the preschool be switched with that of the school aged program, so that the preschool will operate on the lower floor and the school-aged program on the upper floor. New facility sketches have been received. The inside activity space accessible to children in the proposed new preschool rooms measures 1,687.66 square feet., which is sufficient to maintain the licensed capacity of 36 children. 4 toilets and 4 hand-washing fixtures are present, and drinking water is readily available to children. Sufficient storage for children's belongings were observed, and furniture, equipment, and toys were age-appropriate. Floors were clean and safe throughout the facility, and all toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Children will continue to bring meals from home, and the outdoor play area will remain unchanged. Effective today 5/23/2024, the change of rooms for the preschool license has been approved. Facility representative will submit a change of capacity application for the school-aged license. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative, Leana Greene. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
