On 11/28/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Matthew Gallo met with director Jessica Garofalo to deliver findings regarding the above allegations. Upon arrival at 2:35pm, LPA observed a total census of 16 preschool children supervised by 3 staff. It was alleged that, due to lack of supervision, a child hit another child in care. Throughout the investigation, LPA conducted observation, record review, and interviewed reporting party, staff, parents, and children. LPA was able to establish that a child suffered an eye injury that could be consistent with sand being thrown at the child. However, there is insufficient evidence to confidently determine when, where, and under what conditions of supervision the injury occurred. Therefore, the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED, meaning that although the allegation might have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove it. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with director Jessica Garofalo. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
