What the inspector wrote

On March 30th, 2022 at 12:44pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Blake Morillas and Lea Habtom met with the Lead Infant Teacher, Laura Fragoso, for the purpose of an unannounced Annual Required inspection. LPA L. Habtom observed 8 infants and 6 toddlers supervised by 3 staff in two separate rooms. Lead Infant Teacher was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Operating hours are 7:00am to 5:00, Monday through Friday. The facility operates year around. At 1:00 pm , L PA initiated a health and safety inspection of all indoor and outdoor areas accessible to children. LPA observed that hazardous items (disinfectants, cleaning solutions, etc.) were inaccessible to children in care. LPA inspected the food service area and observed that the food products appeared to be protected against contamination. Menus were posted. LPA reviewed care and supervision of children, staffing ratios, health related services (including medications and first aid supplies), furniture, equipment, and fire drills logs. LPA observed all required forms to be posted. Sign/in-sign/out sheet were reviewed. Drinking water is readily accessible to children in care. *Continued on LIC 809-C Page 1 of 3 *Continuation of LIC 809 LPA observed sinks to be operable with changing tables to be within arms reach. There are adequate toys, equipment, and supplies available for the children. LPA inspected the outdoor play area and observed adequate cushioning material and play equipment to be in safe condition. Shaded areas are also available. At 1:20 pm , LPA began to review children\342\200\231s and staff's files. All staff currently employed with the facility have criminal record clearances, health screening reports with TB test. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid. LPA discussed current Covid-19 Guidelines. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Lead Infant Teacher and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Lead Infant Teacher of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA provided the Licensing Agency website ( ccld.ca.gov ), so the Director may obtain updated licensing information, regulations, and forms. *Continued on LIC 809-C Page 2 of 3 *Continuation of LIC 809 -C This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS.
