What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeremey McClain met with licensing representativesMiaomiao Li & Jia Wang for the purpose of a Case Management inspection. The purpose of today\342\200\231s inspection was to ensure compliance with AB 2866 additions to Health and Safety Code (HSC) 1596.814. Six children were observed during today\342\200\231s inspection. Licensee\342\200\231s assistants were present. Today LPA observed the following: 1. A life ring with a minimum exterior diameter of 17 inches and labeled as approved by the United States Coast Guard. 2. A rescue pole with a body hook and minimum fixed length of 12 feet. 3. An ASTM International Standard F2208 pool alarm that sounds upon entrance into the pool. The alarm was tested for functionality during today\342\200\231s inspection. 4. An mesh fence that meets the following requirements: (1) isolates the swimming pool from access to the home; (2) is a minimum height of 60 inches; (3) has a maximum vertical clearance of two inches from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure; (4) has no gaps that can allow the passage of a sphere with a diameter of 4 or more inches; (5) has no protrusions, cavities or other physical characteristics that could serve as handholds or footholds for a child to climb over; and (6) the access gate must swing away from the pool and be self-closing with a self-latching, key lockable device placed no lower than 60 inches above the ground. LPA observed that licensee's are conducting and logging daily inspections for pool safety. This report was reviewed with the licensing representative Miaomiao Li & Jia Wang and a Notice of Site Visit was provided and should remain posted for 30 days.
