What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Jeremey McClain and Kyrsten Williams met with applicant/licensing representative Michelle Brashier for the purpose of an announced Case Management inspection. Applicant is requesting a room change for the school-age program to serve 60 school-age children enrolled in transitional kindergarten and above in room 606. The facility is located on the Ridgeview Elementary campus. The facility will be utilizing Classroom #606 and the multi-purpose room. The fire clearance was granted on 08/29/2023. Per fire clearance, Classroom #60 is approved for a maximum capacity of 30 persons and the multi-purpose room is approved for a maximum capacity of 300 persons. The program offers before and after school care. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:30am 9:30am and then 2:30pm to 6:00pm. The facility requested for a waiver for all employee clearances to be associated to Oakhills STAR school age @ Oakhills Elementary #313600444. The waiver request is granted, and the Licensee Representative understands the waiver must be posted at all times and the conditions of the waiver must be met. INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE: LPAs inspected Classroom #601 and Multi-Purpose room. LPAs observed sufficient number of child size tables, chairs, and storage. LPAs observed a variety of age-appropriate toys and equipment. There is a first aid kit the classroom and the cafeteria. Applicant stated medications and cleaning disinfectants will be stored in the classroom inaccessible to children. Applicant stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. LPAs observed a functional carbon monoxide detector in the classroom. Applicant stated they will be utilizing a paper sign in/out system. LPA observed a hole in one roof panel. Applicant submitted a work order to have the panel replaced, and will send proof to LPA once completed. Applicant stated water will be provided via bottled water. Water fountains are located in the classroom and on the playground. Facility has a designated space in the classroom for isolation in the event a child becomes sick while in care. Continued... Per Health and Safety Code1596.806 Exemption from square footage, toilet, isolation space, outdoor activity space, and fencing requirements, LPA did not measure the indoor and outdoor activity space. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP . A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other important information communication platforms.
