What the inspector wrote

On July 31,2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Piring and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Mai Lor, met with Licensee , Clara Imendia, for an unannounced annual / one year inspection and to increase the capacity. During the inspection there was a census of 5 children in care being supervised by the licensee and assistants. Licensees spouse, mother and father in law, and minor son were present in during today visit. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Facilities hours of operation are Monday through Friday 07:00 AM to 05:30 PM. A health and safety inspection was conducted in the areas accessible to children. The off-limits areas include: entire upstairs, garage, and both side yards. Licensee understands that children may never enter off-limits areas. A fire clearance was granted on 7/29/2025. LPA discussed CCR Regulation 102416.5 regarding staffing Ratio and Capacity for a large license. LPA discussed personnel requirements and records outlined in CCR Regulations 102416 and 102416.1. LPA observed a working telephone, functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher within the home. LPA observed home was safe, orderly, and free of hazards. LPA observed a variety of age-appropriate toys within the home. LPA observed stairs within the home properly barricaded to meet regulations. Licensee stated there are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises . LPA advised the licensee that poisons, such as bleach, in the home, must be locked with a key lock or combination lock. LPA observed all required postings, a children's roster and fire drill log, the last fire drill was conducted June 2025. LPA reviewed records of children\342\200\231s files and staff files, all which contained the required documentation. LPA observed infant 15-minute sleep logs for one infant in care. LPA advised licensee that sleep logs are required for all infants under 24 months. Licensee has current EMSA approved pediatric CPR/First Aid training, which expires 9/2026. Licensee has current Mandated Reporter Training, which expires 8/2026. Licensee under stands both CPR and mandated reporter training's\342\200\231 must be completed every two years. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. No Title 22 deficiencies are being cited based on today\342\200\231s inspection During the exit interview, the lic ensee, Clara Imendia, confir med that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Clara Imendia. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Effective today, 7/31/2025, the facility is approved for a large capacity to serve 12 children (when there is an assistant present) with no more than 4 infants or capacity of 14 children when 1 child in kindergarten or elementary school and 1 child at least age 6 and a maximum of 3 infants. Infants are children under the age of two years.
