What the inspector wrote

On March 11,2024 at 10:20 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Courtnee Peebles arrived unannounced at Kindercare Learning Center (CCC) to conduct a case management visit. On 02/15/2024 CCLD received an unusual incident report stating Child 1 (C1) was left unattended in the school age classroom and was found by S2. Facility records were reviewed, four staff were interviewed Director (D), Staff 1(S1), Staff 2(S2), Staff 3(S3), Staff 4(S4). Based on information gathered, Title 22 regulation 101229(a)(1) has been violated. Based on interviews, C1 was left unsupervised inside of the classroom when C1 was allowed to transition from outside to inside to obtain slime, when S1 accidentally closed the door forgetting C1 inside of the classroom for approximately 1 to 3 minutes. C1 was found by S2 and taken back outside to S1. In addition, S1 has since been coached and made aware of alternative methods to ensure children are supervised at all times. The facility is being cited under Title 22 regulation 101229(a)(1) Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision.. (a) The licensee shall provide care and supervision as necessary to meet the children's needs.(1) No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time,(1). Supervision shall include visual observation. An exit interview was conducted and copy of this report was provided to Director, Blanca Flores. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
