Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) James Wilkerson arrived at this facility to follow up on an incident that occurred on 09/19/22 Staff #1 (S1) picked up a child in an improper manner. Child #1 (C1) was sitting down on the ground. S1 placed a hand on C1's left forearm and wne to help lift C1 off the ground. This was observed by an adult who was present in the facility who stated to S1 that it wasn't the proper way to pick up a child. S1 then proceeded top pick under the armpits with both hands. The facility will be cited for improperly picking up a child. See LIC 809D for deficiency cited. Upon receipt, licensee shall post and provide copies of this licensing report to parents/guardians of children in care at the facility and to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility for the next 12 months. The Notice of Site Visit and Type A Deficiencies from today’s visit must be posted for 30 days. Failure to keep these posted for the entire 30 days will result in an immediate $100 civil penalty for each. An exit interview was conducted, appeal rights discussed and will be provided along with a Notice of Site Visit, from LIC 9224 (AB 633) and a copy of this report.
