What the inspector wrote

(2 ) A required \342\200\223 1 year inspection is being conducted as part of a compliance review. Licensing Program Analysts (LPA\342\200\231s), LaKesha Edwards , toured the center, inside and out. The following was observed: \302\267 A review of the staff records and a review of a sampling of children's records were conducted as part of this evaluation. See Confidential Names List (LIC811) \302\267 The licensee is asked to update the following documents, if applicable, and submit to licensing within 30 days: 1. LIC 500 Personnel Report 2. LIC 610 Emergency & Disaster Plan 3. Parent Handbook/ Program Curriculum/Admission policies and procedures/ fee schedule (only if changes have been made) 4. LIC 309 Administrative Organization (only if changes have been made) 5. LIC 308 Designation of Administrative Responsibility (only if changes have been made) \302\267 The following items have been posted and are updated where necessary: - License - Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610) and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC9148) - Parent\342\200\231s Rights Poster (PUB393) - Personal Rights (LIC613A) - Child Car Seat Law - Menu \302\267 The facility is operating within the terms of the license \302\267 Ratios were met during this inspection \302\267 Facility is currently in Rooms 40, 41, 42, 43, 44 and Room 45. Room 40 through 43 are all full day classes. Rooms 44 and 45 both have AM and PM Classes. Room 44 AM classes are 7:30AM to 11:00AM M-TH , PM from 12:00PM to 3:30 PM M-TH and Room 45 AM classes are from 8:30AM to 11:30 AM M-F and PM classes 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Classrooms are equipped with age appropriate furniture and equipment in good condition \302\267 Appropriate supervision was provided during this inspection \302\267 Classrooms are equipped with age appropriate furniture and equipment in good condition \302\267 Classrooms are clean and free of hazards \302\267 All floors shall be kept clean and safe \302\267 No weapons stored at the facility \302\267 There are no accessible bodies of water present. All wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position. \302\267 Medications are stored where inaccessible to children \302\267 Hazards are stored where inaccessible to children which includes: disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children \302\267 Poisons and toxins are locked \302\267 Bathrooms were observed to be safe, sanitary and in operating condition \302\267 Playgrounds are enclosed by appropriate fences and free of hazards \302\267 Outdoor activity areas are supplied with age and size appropriate equipment in good condition \302\267 Food preparation area is clean, free of litter, rubbish and free of rodents and other vermin \302\267 Food is stored appropriately and protected from contamination \302\267 All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. \302\267 Uncontaminated drinking water shall be readily available both indoors and out and are provided by cups and pitcher or water bottles \302\267 The areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment shall be cushioned with material that absorbs a fall \302\267 Sign in/Sign out record was reviewed and meets regulation requirements \302\267 A Staff member is present with current Pediatric CPR/First Aid which expires on 5/2023 \302\267 Opening (Stephanie Maxwell) site supervisor and closing staff member\342\200\231s CPR/First Aid expires on 5/2023 \302\267 Director completed Health and Safety Training on 1/7/2019 \302\267 Records were reviewed ensuring the children\342\200\231s files contain the names and contact information of authorized representatives and others who can assume responsibility for the child when necessary \302\267 Records were reviewed ensuring that the staff files contain documentation of the educational background, training and/or experience required \302\267 Documentation of fire & earthquake drills to be conducted every six months, last drill conducted on 8/31/2021 \302\267 The Licensee was informed of their reporting requirements and is provided with the Regional Office\342\200\231s Unusual Incident Reporting email mailbox: UnusualIncidentReportsDO10@dss.ca.gov \302\267 A review of staff records on 9/8/2021 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The Licensee can submit transfer forms to associate new individuals or to disassociate someone from your facility at Associations_Disassociations858@dss.ca.gov \302\267 This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. AB2960 \342\200\223 Child care and development services, online portal \342\200\223 Effective June 20, 2022 - This bill requires the State Superintendent of Public Instruction (SSPI), within the California Department of Education (CDE), to develop and post on CDE's website a comprehensive child care and development services online portal for families and providers by June 30, 2022. Further, the bill would require the SSPI to submit a report to the Legislature by January 1, 2021, proposing plans for enhancements to the online portal and inclusive of a comprehensive implementation plan, based on recommendations from the workgroup. An exit interview was conducted and during the interview, the licensee, Jennifer Adcock confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and/or using the facility address for their mailing address. There are no deficiencies. A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED AND LPA VERIFIED THAT IT WAS POSTED IN A PROMINENT LOCATION AT THE FACILITY BEFORE LEAVING. THE LICENSEE UNDERSTANDS THAT IT MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR THE NEXT 30 DAYS. This report must be available for review, upon request, for the next 3 years.
