What the inspector wrote

LPA observations observed the tables to have manipulatives and bookshelves around the table with other manipulatives for the children to obtain. Other allegation received that facility staff yelled at day care child and facility staff inappropriately handled day care children. Confidential interviews disclosed that S2 would yell at C1 and felt the staff were annoyed with C1\342\200\231s negative behaviors. Interview with S2 denied allegation of yelling at C1 or any child in the facility at any time. LPA observation of S2\342\200\231s language and communication with staff and children, was that S2 talks with a louder tone of voice and with a strong accent, which could be observed as yelling. Other confidential interviews denied S2 yelling at C1 or any other children in the day care. Confidential interviews disclosed that staff 1 (S1) isolated C1 at a table for an incident that occurred the day before. Other confidential interviews revealed that S3 was mean to Child #2 (C2) putting C2 in timeout for not listening and S3 pulled C2 by the arm placing C2 where S3 wanted C2 to be. Interview with S3 denied grabbing C2 by the arm, informing LPA C2 is not in the same classroom as S3. Interview with Director denied allegation that staff handle the children inappropriately or yell at the children in care. Confidential interviews with C1, C2 disclosed feeling safe at the childcare center (CCC). LPA observations on 5/19/23 revealed the children have a good rapport with all staff at the CCC. Based on confidential interviews and lack collaborating evidence, the allegations that facility staff inappropriately disciplined day care children, facility staff yelled at day care child and facility staff inappropriately handled day-care children may have occurred, however is not supported, or proven by evidence. Therefore, the allegations are unsubstantiated. A copy of this report, appeal rights and Notice of Site Visit were provided to Director, Cathy Knudsen. The Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days.
