Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

It was reported that a staff was asked to prop up infants’ bottles on pillows to feed in order to assist with another task. Confidential interviews disclosed that the children are never given a bottle propped up for feeding. Interview with director denied allegation that the bottles are propped up with a bottle for feeding, and that the parents/guardians are notified on an app what their individual child has or has not eaten while at the CCC. It was reported that sleep checks are not done or monitored. Confidential interviews disclosed the infants are never left unsupervised during nap time. Interview with director denied the infants are left unsupervised during naptime and the staff are required to follow the infant safe sleep plan. It was reported that a staff was yelled at on at least one occasion for warming up a bottle to feed the children in a timely manner. Interview with director stated the allegation is false and could not happen because the staff are required to follow the infant feeding plan that is on file. Based on interviews and record review the allegations that Staff do not ensure infant children are always kept clean and dry, Staff allowed infant to be propped up with a bottle during feeding, Staff allowed infants to be left unsupervised during nap time, Staff do not ensure infants are fed in a timely manner may have occurred, however is not supported or proven by evidence. Therefore, the above allegations are unsubstantiated. A copy of this report, and appeal rights were given and explained to Director, Tara Martinez. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days.
