On August 30, 2023, at 9:37 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anastasia Flores, conducted a Case Management visit in response to information received from the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), Division of Drinking Water (DDW). LPA met with Assistant Director, Laura Vital Martino who was informed of the reason for the visit. Assembly Bill 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their drinking and cooking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020, and January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first lead testing. LPA observed the report provided by the SWRCB the SINK/FAUCET IDENTIFIED (1/04/23 infant room#1 faucet R tested with 6.000 level of lead. The faucet is not used for drinking, meal prepping, only for teachers to wash their hands.) The facility has always used bottled water for children in care. The faucet is located in the infant room #1. Assistant Director, Laura Vital Martino, told LPA that the faucet was immediately marked unable to be used, the hose under the sink and faucet key on the top was replaced, flushed and retested on 3/10/23 no lead was tested in the water. See LIC 809D for cited deficiency in accordance with the California Code of Regulations Title 22, Division 12 written directives. An exit interview was conducted with Laura Vital Martino. A copy of this report, appeal rights and a Notice of Site Visit was issued.
