Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 05/14/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Hayley McCarthy arrived at the family child care home to conduct a case management inspection to inspect compliance with new pool regulations. During today's inspection, the following was observed: LPA observed a 5 ft mesh fence. The mesh fence is connected from the side wooden fence in the backyard to the back brick wall of the backyard ensuring the pool is inaccessible to children in care. The mesh fence has a gap of less than 2 inches from the ground to the bottom of the fence. LPA verified gate opens away from swimming pool, is self closing and self latching. LPA verified the pool alarm is in working order and in compliance with ASTM International Standard F2208. Licensee provided documentation confirming it is compliance with ASTM International Standard F2208. LPA verified there is a life ring with minimum exterior diameter of 17 inches and approved by the U.S. Coast Guard. LPA observed a rescue pole with a body hook. The rescue pole is 14 ft fixed length. LPA observed a daily pool inspection log to ensure all safety measures are in place before the facility opens each day. The pool meets Title 22 Regulations and is inaccessible as of this date. An exit interview was conducted and this report was reviewed with and provided to Licensee, Keri Gonzales. A notice of site visit was printed and must be posted for 30 consecutive days. Appeal Rights were given to Licensee.
