What the inspector wrote

On 11/14/2024 at approximately 10:35 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jesse Gardner arrived unannounced at the facility to conduct an annual inspection as part of a compliance review. LPA toured the facility, inside and out, records were reviewed, and the following was observed and/or discussed: \302\267 Normal days and hours of operation are: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM \302\267 Off-limit areas include: All bedrooms, garage, and farthest portion of back yard (separated by locked gate). \302\267 The facility is licensed to have no more than 14 children as a large FCCH and is operating within the licensed capacity and appropriate ratios. There were no children inside the facility at time of inspection. Licensee has no children enrolled at this time. \302\267 A working telephone is present, and the current phone number is on file \302\267 A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed. A smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were present and tested by the Licensee during this inspection. \302\267 All hazardous items are stored inaccessible to children \302\267 Toxins are locked and inaccessible to children in care. \302\267 Weapons are/are not present/stored according to Title 22. Licensee understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 Regulations \302\267 Property owner/landlord notification and consent on file \302\267 Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan & Notification of Parent\342\200\231s Rights poster are posted \302\267 Pediatric CPR and First Aid Card expire on 11/24/2025 \302\267 Health & Safety Certificate - completed on 4/28/2006 \302\267 No bodies of water at this time. LICENSEE UNDERSTANDS ALL BODIES OF WATER INCLUDING PONDS, ABOVE GROUND POOLS & SPAS, IN-GROUND POOLS & SPAS, AND SOME FOUNTAINS MUST BE PROPERLY COVERED OR FENCED PER TITLE 22 REGULATIONS. The Department must be notified before and after installation of the above types of bodies of water. In addition, all wading pools or similar product must be emptied immediately after use and stored in an upright position. \302\267 Fireplace is properly barricaded \302\267 The home was clean and orderly with proper heating and ventilation for safety and comfort \302\267 Outside play area is properly fenced or the Licensee maintains appropriate supervision \302\267 Current roster not on file; however, Licensee has current copy. \302\267 Documentation of fire drills was not on file, consultation was provided to the licensee that once children are back in care, drills must be conducted and documented in writing every 6 months per Regulation. \302\267 Criminal record clearances are required prior to all adults living or working in a Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 per day the person has been present, may be assessed. Resident and/or staff records reviewed on 11/14/2024 indicate that all adults who require caregiver background checks have received all required clearances or exemptions. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee [or facility representative] and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee [facility representative] of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP . When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Additionally, there is a link to \342\200\234Receive Important Updates\342\200\235 located on the right side of the page, immediately above Quick Links. One can add their email address and choose which program(s) they wish to receive Provider Information Notices (PIN) for. The Licensee can submit transfer forms to associate new individuals or to disassociate someone from your facility at: Associations_Disassociations858@dss.ca.gov The Duty Officer is available to answer questions Monday \342\200\223 Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm at: 951-782-4200 There are no deficiencies being cited at this time. During the exit interview, the Licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. An exit interview was conducted, and this report was reviewed with and provided to the Licensee Laura Espino. Appeal rights were discussed and provided during the exit interview. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
